The Role We are now recruiting a Scientific Advisor Hematology – Middle East & Africa to be based in Dubai-UAE, who will be responsible to actively engage with Thought Leaders and to serve as the Therapeutic Area (TA) reference point within their geographic scope (Gulf & Eastern Mediterranean- GEM). The SA is responsible to design and deliver the medical plan in collaboration with the partners, provide medical support to internal matrix, and foster effective and open relationships with the LR partners & support the development Brand Strategies in collaboration with BMS commercial by communicating medical insight and knowledge about the product or disease area in particular with reference to patients’ needs and treatment trends. External Environment and Customer Focus Develop and maintain strong relationships with Thought Leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders, within a given geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product and HEOR related questions. SAs will use various channels for interactions (1:1, group presentation; remote, etc). Effectively present information to HCPs, as appropriate, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives. Actively profile the medical landscape and continuously update knowledge and expertise in products, patient treatment trends, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers. Collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the medical and commercial organizations to be actioned in support of the strategy development Medical Planning/Execution Provide strategic input into the development of Brand plans, develop and execute local Medical Plan and TL Interaction plans. Deliver scientifically meaningful medical program proposals and ensure flawless execution of medical activities Identify potential speakers for BMS educational programs and ensure that these speakers receive all necessary product and disease state training. Compliance Endorse and implement a culture of compliance Adhere to all internal and external rules and regulations Alert management or the Compliance Department to any possible compliance issues Act as a role model who demonstrates consistent ethical and professional behaviour. Required skills & desired experience: Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD) Relevant industry experience in Medical Affairs Experience in a customer-facing role with thought leaders and key customers preferred. Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams including clinical, commercial, regulatory, pharmacovigilance and health outcomes as well as and market-based medical colleagues. Broad experience in Hematology. Specific expertise in benign hematology is an advantage. Highly organized and motivated individual possessing excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Quickly and comprehensively learning about new subject areas and environments Expert Knowledge of the Hematology scientific area. Experience in the Gulf & Eastern Mediterranean (GEM) healthcare environment & knowledge of local regulations. Developing field medical plans aligned with medical and overall disease & product objectives Fluent in English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage. Compliance & Integrity.
