At John Crane we have an exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to join the Dubai office for the Middle East and North Africa region. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing generalist human resources guidance, support and service to business on company programmes and initiatives, employee relations, organisational design and effectiveness, recruitment, retentions, learning and talent development. You will partner with line managers, business partners and employees to foster open communication, resolve ongoing and complex human resources related issues as well as support and develop human resources initiatives and the delivery of HR Services in coordination with HR Operations team. Duties & Responsibilities Assure compliance of Company HR operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures. Site/functional communications delivery in accordance with group, divisional, functional communication strategies. Ownership of projects on an adhoc basis, including engagement with global HR teams. The Individual Bachelor’s Degree required/Masters preferred in Business/HR/Psychology or related field. Extensive human resource generalist experience and in-depth knowledge of employment law and HR practices with a solid track record in managing/advising on complex and sensitive legal issues as well as considering the impact of new legislation and devising new HR policies and procedures. Good understanding of accounting principles, payroll taxes and government payroll regulations Proficient in both written and verbal English, other languages considered as a plus Current knowledge of national and regional legal and regulatory environments and requirements Ability to negotiate and lead discussion with managers, employees, employees’ representatives and other statutory bodies Influencing and coaching skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Self-starter and able to juggle with different priorities About Smiths At Smiths we apply leading-edge technology to design, manufacture and deliver market-leading innovative solutions that meet our customers’ evolving needs, and touch the lives of millions of people every day.
