| The Opportunity The Student Affairs Deanship seeks an incumbent for the position of Housing Officer to provide supervisory coverage of the residence hall in the absence of the Supervisor, primarily during weekend shifts, as well as assisting the Supervisor in various aspects of facility management, conflict prevention and resolution as well as training facilitation. The Responsibilities The Housing Officer will be responsible for the daily operations in ensuring the safety and well-being of the students as well as providing support to students, the resident assistants, and the front desk security staff. During these shifts in the residence hall, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Ensure that any regular programming (such as advising sessions, training sessions, special events or other activities) takes place as scheduled Remain on call in case of any emergencies Supervise the resident assistants and front desk staff Outside of these shifts in the residence hall, the Assistant Supervisor of Student Housing is also expected to: Assist with the planning of activities such as orientation, training and team building activities Help to ensure that the physical environment of the residence hall is maintained at optimum levels Provide support to the resident assistants in regards to training and conflict resolution Other related duties as assigned. The Requirements Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited Institution and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other essential requirements: Fluency in English Desired or preferred requirements: Experience working in the academic environment.
