What you’ll be doing We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate to join our Beauty Intelligence team. As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for driving our market research efforts, providing valuable insights, and fostering data-driven decision-making within the organization. This role will focus on the GCC region, ensuring our brands and partners have the information needed to succeed in a dynamic and competitive landscape. The Intelligence function is part of ISG business unit, that combines Intelligence, Strategy and Growth functions. We are a trusted partner for the Chalhoub Group for industry, market, and consumer insights. Our mission is to support the growth of the brands by providing accurate and relevant industry and market data, as well as building the forecasts and looking into the future. The intelligence team is positioned at the beginning of the funnel to spot and identify shifts and new trends in the industry, which later enable our retail teams, Innovation, and Investments in making insights driven decisions. We remain agile in our reports and data sources, continuously on the look out to integrate innovative sources. Key Responsibilities Support the team on reporting and insights: Create comprehensive monthly and bi-annual reports that highlight market size, shares, and key trends. Present these findings to our brands and partners, enabling informed decision-making. Support the team on market modelling and analysis: Develop and maintain local and regional market models for the beauty vertical, with a specific focus on the GCC countries. Compare regional trends with global insights to identify opportunities and challenges. Data Collection and Verification: Collect and consolidate both regional and local market estimates for key countries in the GCC, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman. Ensure data reliability and collaborate with brands on data verification efforts. Support the team on performance analysis: Collaborate with Chalhoub franchise brands, joint ventures, and external partners to analyze the performance of the beauty market. Provide insights into market shifts, key retail events, and e-commerce trends. Industry insights: Stay up-to-date with industry developments, new brands, and business models within the beauty sector in the Middle East and beyond. Share findings to support strategic planning and business growth. Market projections: Develop and monitor beauty market projections, identifying potential areas of growth and suggesting cross-market and cross-channel analytics to enhance our understanding. Collaborative Partnerships: Build strong relationships with internal business units and external partners to capture new data and insights on the industry. Engage with new partners to enhance data sources and trends. Support the team on presentations: Convey analysis and present findings to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and external business partners Ad-Hoc Requests: Manage specific brands and handle ad-hoc requests from management and other stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of information. Continuous Improvement: Continuously develop and enhance reports, studies, and deep dives, focusing on categories, sub-segments, trends, and key retail periods, to stay ahead of market dynamics. What you’ll need to succeed Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field 3-5 Years of experience as a Market Intelligence Analyst (or equivalent), preferably with a focus on the beauty industry Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis, visualization, and reporting Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets to draw actionable insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Familiarity with market research methodologies and competitive analysis techniques Passion for the beauty industry and a keen interest in staying abreast of the latest trends and innovations Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment |
