| Our Veterinary team use their scientific background to provide technical expertise and education to our customers, sales and marketing teams. With a deep knowledge of pharmacology and animal health we engage scientific exchange with external experts and industry leaders ensuring the scientific value of our animal health portfolio is understood. Reporting to the Livestock Business Unit Lead, Gulf & Levant, the primary responsibility of the Ruminant Commercial & Technical Manager is to lead the in-market commercial activities and technical support for the company’s biopharma portfolio for production animals (predominantly dairy & sheep) and maximize sales to target customer groups through demand generation activities. Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is the ability to liaise with distributor sales force, retailer store managers and staff, key accounts, and end users to drive sales, ensure optimal use of our products and meet customer needs. The successful candidate would also be responsible from the co-ordination and running of product training for distributor sales force along with lectures and meetings towards end users. The role sits within the ruminant sub-business unit of the local organization and will work in close collaboration with the technology division of the company to execute synergistic projects. Role and Responsibilities: Commercial & Technical Support In conjunction with the Livestock BU Lead, execute sell-in and sell-out strategies geared towards distributors, retailers, and Key Accounts, assuring that those activities are within the overall species strategy, regional and global corporate objectives and deliver on the desired sales targets Provide technical and product training to distributor staff and undertake on-farm calling in tandem, or individually, to sell the company’s range of solutions and products Organize local seminars and lectures in conjunction with the distributor salesforce, present technical and marketing presentations externally to KOL’s, end-user customers and distributors Assist distributors with forecasting support, monitor stock levels, perform commercial campaigns and stock revisions, and initiate sales focused action plans, based on analyzed KPIs Organize and monitor field trials Develop technical marketing materials and review materials for external release to ensure compliance requirements are met Ensure that all product campaigns are well executed in the region with the goal of maximizing sales of the promoted brands. This includes all sales, marketing, and technical aspects of each campaign Identify and recommend additional product and market opportunities Maintain and report information on local market intelligence Education & Experience: Degree in Veterinary Science/Medicine Strong knowledge of ruminant animal health industry Minimum 3 years’ experience, ideally as a vet practitioner or a technical sales manager in KA segment or in the veterinary private market to be able to develop & execute a robust commercial strategy Demonstrable sales skills and commercial acumen Key Account management experience an advantage Highly developed skills in negotiating, influencing, and establishing collaborative relationships Strong management skills including competent time management, effective prioritization, objective setting, efficient call planning, disciplined call recording & routine sales tracking (‘Actual’ v ‘Budget’) Familiarity with Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) systems and willingness to embrace routine utilization of such systems Experience in the Middle East is an advantage Arabic is essential, English as a strong first or second language Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Approximately 70 % travel in-region with occasional overseas travel as required Strong computer skills in Excel and PPT Our Animal Health Division is a trusted global leader in veterinary medicine, dedicated to preserving and improving health, well-being, and performance of animals and the people who care for them.
