| POSITION OBJECTIVE : Create furniture designs that fulfill the requirements of the design brief and department standards by focusing on user’s needs and industrial feasibility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Creativity – Apply and follow the adapted creative methodologies to propose concepts and innovative solutions for product development, by focusing on use and product lifecycle. • Knowledge of industrial processes with strong technical understanding of materials and manufacturing processes to translate a product from concept to pre-production prototype .• Participate in user analysis and a co-design approach, in coordination with commercial teams in order to develop relevant solutions to fulfill the identified customer’s needs • Participate actively in the ‘Design Watch’ by attending exhibitions, trade fairs and territory visits to gain market knowledge and identify emerging trends and innovations for Kids furniture category Product Design • Deliver designs which are compliant with the themes, the industrial feasibility, the retail constraints, the quality assurance requirements and the company’s strategy • Be the link between suppliers and the buying team for all product development purposes and deliver high quality and reliable deliverables by maintaining company standards • Ensure the respect of the deadlines • Support the Style and Trends Team by giving clear technical guidance and user’s needs consideration on product development • Constantly work on improving the existing product assortment and make the industrialization easier and more efficient with respect to quality, price, assembly and overall look. • Develop supplier knowledge and compile a working database outlining cost breakdown of materials and processes • Be the link between suppliers and the buying team for all product development purposes and deliver high quality and reliable deliverables by maintaining company standards • Ensure the respect of the deadlines • Support the Style and Trends Team by giving clear technical guidance and user’s needs consideration on product development • Constantly work on improving the existing product assortment, and make industrialization easier and more efficient with respect to quality, price, assembly and overall look. • Develop supplier knowledge and compile a working database outlining cost breakdown of materials and processes |
