Job Description:
The Radiology Department at Sheikh Shakhbut Medical City (SSMC) is seeking a suitable qualified and experienced Radiology Manager.

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) is a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest health care network, and Mayo Clinic, a non-profit global leader in medical care, education, and research headquartered in the United States of America. Established in 2019, SSMC is one of the largest tertiary hospitals in the UAE. SSMC serves to elevate the provision of health care services and standards by bringing to the UAE and broader region Mayo Clinic’s unique model of care, founded on the three shields of practice, education, and research.

Job Requirements :
Responsible for the overall management and organization of the Radiology Department and satellites. Directs, develops, implements and updates internal standards, policies, procedures and protocols. Assure quality care services, staff competencies and privileges are appropriate and maintained.
 
Key Responsibilities of the role
Works cooperatively with department leadership and multidisciplinary teams, supervisors, administrators, physicians.
Partners in support of department on institutional projects, staff recruitment, policy implementation, and serves as a primary resource for day-to-day issues and communications
Maintains an effective working relationship with a variety of individuals throughout the institution and with persons outside SSMC as job duties dictate
Identifies and manages a practice model that supports high quality, optimizes efficiencies, and meets the needs of the department
Represents patients at a multi-disciplinary level to ensure delivery of coordinated multi-disciplinary service
Delegates tasks and responsibilities, allocating and organizing the work of professional healthcare and assistant staff to meet service priorities on a daily basis
Directs and monitors all radiology procedures carried out assists as required
Provides advice and responds to queries in relation to radiology management across the organisation
Identifies opportunities for improvement and utilizes continuous improvement methods in problem-solving to achieve desired outcomes.
Develop a sound understanding of department finances. Work with both finance analyst and revenue analyst monthly as needed.
Managing a dedicated budget, and being involved in the development and implementation of cost improvement strategies through service redesign, income generation schemes – targeted marketing efforts, management of staffing ratios based on demand, and ensure that service delivery is managed within financial and budgetary constraints
Maintains accountability for documentation and communication of information and forecasted needs in the annual planning process and at other identified times
Performs duties independently and initiates judgment in handling a variety of management issues.
Provides continuous and timely performance feedback including coaching relative to behavior problems, performance improvement, and professional advancement.
Responsibilities include planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating the delivery of patient centered care within established institution’s policies, procedures and guidelines, Primarily responsible for safe patient care and professional performance of staff. Duties include but are not limited to: addressing patients and their families and performing interventions as needed, managing human, financial and other resources, professional development of oneself and subordinates, involvement in strategic planning of the assigned area and fostering interdisciplinary and collaborative relationships.
Reviews resource trends and discusses projected needs with administrator and leadership staff for inclusion in the operational plan.
Develops the operational plan for the assigned work area.
Take a lead role in the implementation of strategic initiatives outlined in the plans.
Maintains documentation and record-keeping processes in compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agency standards.
Resolve routine patient complaints.
Represents department in a positive, productive manner and ensures adequate representation of assigned areas.
Communicates activities and progress of assigned committees and work teams to appropriate staff.
 
Educational Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program or ;
Diploma in Radiology (minimum three (3) years course duration) or,
Associate degree in Radiography program (minimum two (2) years course duration)

AND
b. Registration/certification or accreditation as a radiographer
 
Desired :
Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare field and 5 year’s prior experience managing a radiology department in a large hospital  with strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines
