The Systems Engineer will exhibit genuine interest in solving work problems through proactively asking questions, clearly communicating and collaborating both internally and externally to grow the business. In addition, the Systems Engineer is responsible for understanding our competition and customers by showing initiative to learn and continuously improve company processes. The Systems Engineer is expected to provide technical and commercial support to the sales process by understanding the customer process, needs, and identifying the solutions offered by the Compressor Controls Corporation (CCC).
The primary focus of the Systems Engineer is to assist with winning and delivering orders by providing technical expertise and solutions to our customers. This will be accomplished by supporting CCC customers in conjunction with the Account Managers’ plan. The Systems Engineer acts as the head engineer, a critical role within the Account Pod, to uncover, understand, and solve problems around assigned Account opportunities; in turn helping the team formulate value and solutions for our customers.
As appropriate, the Systems Engineer will perform a variety of engineering responsibilities, working to engage customers and solve problems; supporting the Account Pod during the full customer value scope including designing, planning, proposing and delivering CCC solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Listed in order of relevance:
Provide advanced knowledge in the creation of unique solutions to resolve complex issues and situations in customer’s installations. Participates as necessary in the diagnostic agreement, value agreement, solution agreement, and delivery of the solution.
Diagnostic Agreement: Uncover customer issues and evidence to support a value hypothesis.
Value Agreement: Quantify and validate the value hypothesis to support a customer’s value agreement.
Solution Agreement: Design the architecture and application of various technical approaches and technologies to present to the customer the optimal solutions. Ability to describe and quantify the value of the various CCC package solutions.
Delivery of the Solution: Coordination and communication with the customer to satisfy the project execution and on time delivery of the solution.
Actively participate in long-range customer account planning and facilitate solutions to unplanned customer requests.
Interface with internal departments and/or customers to facilitate communication and exchange of ideas.
Travel to customer locations along with Team Lead, Account Managers or Senior Engineer, as necessary to perform pre-sale activities including site surveys, site walkdowns, customer meetings, and other engineering activities.
Configure and conduct tests on control systems and develop specifications for third party equipment and instrumentation.
Ensure ERP, supporting documentation, time allocation, and scheduled activities are properly recorded.
Respond and participate in change proactively.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Handle other duties as required.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
2+ years of experience in control systems engineering or related field or related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Project Management Certification or Professional Engineering License preferred
Experience with the control of turbo machinery

Strong understanding of Controls Philosophy and engineering processes
Basic computer skills; including basic PC setup and Microsoft Office products required.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
Strong understanding of control theory
Excellent understanding of system hardware and software interaction
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to read, speak, and write in English required.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role will require frequent domestic and international travel.
