Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Responsible for the implementation of safety initiatives at worksites, monitoring compliance with McDermott safe working practices. Timely reporting deliverables including Incident notifications whilst maintaining an 80% presence at the worksite. Manage, monitor and advise on all matters related to the Health and Safety of personnel and issues affecting/ impacting the Marine operations environment due to project activities. Is the appointed Health, Safety and Environmental Management Representative during the delegation of the Marine HSE Manager. Must have excellent interpersonal skill Lead and drive a common and consistent risk-based HSE culture throughout the Marine Operations To have a sound knowledge of Statutory HSES Regulations and marine industry standards and ensure their correct implementation in line with Company HSES System Ensure that HSES communications received from HSES Managers, HSES Coordinator or Division Managers, are brought to the attention of all employees Lead the implementation of the HSE-MS as required by the Contract and in line with corporate, Client, other stakeholders and legislative requirements in relation to project Marine Operations HSE Critical Activities (e.g.: Engineering, Construction, Operations, Contractor interfaces); Develop an integrated approach to HSE and Hazard & Effects Management across Marine operations, project and contractors Support the planning and execution of the internal HSE Audit and compliance assurance programs Establish KPI’s relevant to the area management, complete with measurement/compliance to the indicators. Develop / review/update all HSE Management System documents Monitor for effectiveness and assist in the implementation of HSE Management Plan. Lead Incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis, Coordinate and assist with incident notifications and investigations including compilation and submittal of completed reports in a timely manner. Review / approve Subcontractors and Vendors for project equipment/ services. Attend all relevant HSES meetings and coordinate on all HSES issues between HSE Committee, Management Committee and Line Management. Regularly inspect the work areas to identify unsafe acts and conditions and advise line management of those that cannot be immediately corrected. Assist supervisors with the implementation and induction of HSES training to all levels of employees and subcontractor and Training Dept updates provided. Monitor the system of maintenance and inspection of life-saving and fire fighting equipment. Assist with medical evacuations (medivacs) and respond to emergencies in a timely manner. Initiate, coordinate and record emergency drills, ensure a post drill review / de-brief is conducted and make recommendations for the improvement of their effectiveness. Monitor environmental issues at the work location and liaise with the Environmental Coordinator. Review BBS data submitted from Marine operational sites analyse data and provide recommendations and improvements plan to enhance the behaviours safety performance of the peer group. Assist with the planning of PTW’s and TRA’s, and inspect all Permit to Work documents ensuring their suitability and compliance prior to issuance. Maintain and keep up to date with all relevant HSE documentation and libraries Monitoring Marine HSE Advisors performance and mentoring/coaching them to enhance their performance to meet the expectations and to develop them for future senior role assignments Essential Qualifications and Education: Minimum of 10yrs in Oil and Gas construction and process of which at least 5 should be with HSE Degree / Diploma in Safety or Environmental Management, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Certifications & Affiliations:ISO 45001 & 14001 Lead Auditor GradIOSH or equivalent Company Overview and Core Values: McDermott is a premier, fully-integrated provider of technology, engineering and construction solutions to the energy industry.
