Kanad Hospital (formerly known as Oasis Hospital) was established in 1960 by Doctors Pat and Mariam Kennedy at the request of HH Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan. The Kennedys were physicians from the United States whose primary goal was to honor God by providing loving healthcare to those in this region. Position Summary: This position is responsible for technical operation and maintenance of IT equipment, network infrastructure and data-centers, involves storage and server management, management of switches and routers and other network resources within the Kanad Hospital infrastructure. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field. Experience: At least 3 (preferably 5) years of work experience, preferably within an IT operations and/or support environment Job functions and Key Accountabilities: System Management Install, configure and maintain servers and associated hardware Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management Build, configure and manage servers running Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualized server hosting and administration using VMWare, hosting back-end solutions, such as email and SQL databases, Knowledge of system security (e.g firewall, SIEM solution, Antivirus etc. ) and data backup/recovery Ensuring data is stored securely and backed up regularly Troubleshoot software, hardware and network problems Define the system, network and storage expansion and maintenance plans to ensure that the hospital maintains supportable standards Define and implement security and disaster recovery arrangement for the IT systems, setup and monitor all continuity of operations procedures Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely. Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the networked computer system at Kanad Document configurations, troubleshooting techniques and assistance sheets Network Management Maintain Kanad Hospital computer network by administering user accounts, implement security procedures, as well as ensure Internet connectivity for research, eClaims and email/voice services Support research and regulate all IT purchases, and maintain responsibility for the accuracy of all asset registers in the IT Department, as well as warranties agreements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) Manage multiple virtual and local area networks (VLAN), virtual private network (VPN), firewalls and Internet proxies, and Cisco switches, hubs and routers. User Support Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support to users by assisting the support team in troubleshooting issues and identifying long-term solutions Writing/presenting training materials Provide On Call support. Project Management: Initiates, plans and execute controls and closes out a discrete unit of work to accomplish desired outcomes. Actively manages task dependencies and critical path, balances resource allocation, mitigates risks, and monitors schedule/budget performance. Ad Hoc Tasks Research and assisting in acquisition planning and standard setting for IT equipment and software Mentor less experienced IT staff on operations and support processes Documenting IT procedures and policies, related the above tasking Experienced in continuity of operations practices, network and system security, capacity and lifecycle planning, and software licensing / hardware warranties |
