With the power of The Economist Group behind it, Economist Impact crafts bespoke partnerships using a potent portfolio of capabilities including: policy research and insights branded content media & advertising design thinking and data visualisation global and bespoke events Currently we are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Impact Sales team in Dubai. In this role you will grow incremental revenue across the portfolio and develop relationships with client and agency stakeholders to understand their marketing needs and identify opportunities for The Economist Group. Accountabilities How you will contribute: Have a deep understanding of, and experience with major media trends, including but not limited to Advertising, Content Marketing, Thought-Leadership, Public Policy, Digital Apps and Video Ability to confidently and persuasively convey the merits of Economist Impact capabilities to clients and prospects in all written and verbal communications while maintaining the high quality and professional image of The Economist Group. Have a deep understanding of senior-level business decision-makers and their media and purchasing habits Identify and build Impact Partnerships with key accounts (multi-year programmes) Be adept at building strategic programs for clients and agencies Focus on growing Economist Impact market share across media, content and research solutions Develop and foster strong relationships with key accounts and enhance focus on advertising agencies to maintain Economist Impacts position as a high quality and valued brand partner Foster effective teamwork with local and global sales and marketing teams Effectively manage all aspects of your given business (territory) – understanding your clients business, building & managing relationships, and understanding the competitive set Develop a client strategy for select key accounts, meeting and exceeding quarterly, and annual revenue targets across all platforms Maximize revenues/share from existing accounts while pro-actively seeking out and converting new business on a consistent basis Report and forecast sales revenue on a regular basis, revenues against quarterly and annual targets, market share, and managing expenses & travel budgets Adhere to business directives required by management as well as maintaining an accurate and up-to-date sales database Experience, skills and professional attributes The ideal skills for this role are: Proven sales and/or media agency experience along with BS / BA degree A demonstrated understanding of how integrated marketing can support corporate communications, strategy and advertising campaigns An ability and willingness to cold call and secure meetings with prospects and a strong consultative sales approach Ability to be a change agent and adapt positively to changes in strategy, methodology, and responsibilities Learning agility and confidence to take responsibility for your own development and support the development of others through the sharing of knowledge and expertise Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain productive business/professional relationships Understands market trends, business drivers, and changing customer preferences Experience in structuring integrated programs including research and custom content Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Power-Point, contact management Software (Salesforce) A results driven, motivated and enthusiastic commitment to succeed, and passion for The Economist Group brands Creativity and ability to generate advertising solutions with a strong attention to detail Ability to influence and communicate with colleagues in other offices, both nationally and internationally Strong written and verbal communication skills The Economist Group values diversity.
