Job Description:
Purpose
Responsible to manage the product life cycle from product development/design to buying and retail planning by targeting maximizing sales and profitability, and to enhance brand reputation within the market.

Minimum Requirements
Education on Fashion Buying / Merchandising and Retail fields
Min. 4 years’ experience in retail industry within buying /merchandising functions
Expertise on MS Excel / PowerPoint
 
Knowledge: –
Knowledge of buying / merchandising of Accessories products in retail industry
Knowledge and ability to visualize and anticipate the needs of the business.
Understanding and analysis of sales, trends, and competition
Knowledge of range building
Understanding the buying process and practices including multiple critical path management.
 
Key Accountabilities: –

Buying Budget and Range Planning: Determine buying requirements in order to formulate buying plans for the assigned department/category, considering customer profiles/product trends and historic trading. Using lessons learnt and external inputs to drive direction and trend. Align the buying plan to the overall department/category business plan as well as strategy in order to meet the requirements of department/category. Deliver sales and profit targets through relevant and desirable product ranges, meeting or exceeding all KPI’s. Work closely with planning to maximize performance within product type as well as territory. Understand and respond to territory trends/requirements.
Vendor Management: Manage the sourcing and negotiations for the concept in order to maintain a suitable supplier base. Work with Head of Buying to ensure supplier strategy is followed. 
Order Management: Place orders and ensure the merchandise is delivered on a timely basis, and in line with the service level agreements in order to ensure compliance with buying plans. Support the tracking of merchandise transportation from supplier to landmark distribution center in order to ensure smooth flow of goods. 
Product Design and Quality: Manage all design and development activities within the budget and in line with market demands as well as company image, in order to meet the business strategy. 
Vendor and Product Research: Identify and leverage alternative buying opportunities to source products in order to ensure that the company maintains its competitive edge. Aim to work with a consolidated vendor base to maximize efficiency and buying power.
Cost Optimization: Manage centralized bulk buying, margins, markdowns etc. as well as select vendor mix in order to optimize costs. Achieve intake margin trough cost controls and optimization without impacting quality. 
Retail & VM Coordination: Support the alignment of VM standards in the stores, in line with product and company standards, in order to maintain the look and feel of the stores and the brand. Support launches and implementation of new floor range stock, in coordination with sales, marketing and VM, in order to ensure successful execution.
